Ordering Takeaway for a Crowd: A Few Practical Notes

Ordering for four is easy. Ordering for twenty is a different problem, and most of the mistakes are made before anything reaches the kitchen.

How much to order

For a group, count roughly one biryani plate per two people if there are curries and breads alongside, and one per person if biryani is the main event. People consistently over-order rice and under-order bread.

Two curries for a group of ten is usually enough — one meat, one vegetarian. Three starts to look generous; four is normally waste.

What travels well

Biryani, curries and kebabs hold their heat and are fine for the drive home.

Tandoor breads are best eaten within twenty minutes or so — they are worth ordering, just eat them first.

Chaat does not travel at all. It is assembled to be eaten immediately, and a pani puri in a box is not the same dish. If you want chaat for a group, it is better as a banquet item where it can be made on site.

When to call instead

Our order page is quickest for a normal takeaway. But for a large order, or anything needed at a specific time, call +966 54 791 8595. A sixty-person order placed at 8pm on a Thursday needs a conversation, not a form.

If it is really a party

Above about thirty people you are usually better off with a catering package than a large takeaway — priced per guest, and we handle the setup. That is the Banquet & Catering menu.
